• Helped a SMN who outclaimed a couple HM members on Silverhook.
• Got fire weather just in the nick of time to unlock SMN.

Boyahda Fail

Last night Hamosaromo was kind enough to duo with me on his SMN in The Boyahda Tree. We made lots of EXP and then died a lot and lost most of it. Just too many links in there. EXP loss on death while soloing is kinda weak, considering there are now alternatives like campaign. So... I went to campaign and now I'm about to ding 66.

At least we got Conquest Points in Boyahda, I'm going to need 120k of them when I get Bastok to Rank 8. Hot for that Regen pin and MP necklace. The eva/parry gloves aren't bad to have for whenever I get around to THF.

Windurst Fame Fail

So last night after Z and I farmed up that Star Spinel (he did most of the work, as usual), I went back to Windy to trigger the quest - only to find that after doing all the pre-req quests I didn't have enough fame to trigger the one that needed the Star Spinel. Bah.

So I got drunk and went to sleep just as Z was getting ready to pop Gration with the shield either Ed or Kev made (can't remember). I really wanted to stay up and do fame quests and see if Gration dropped the Tatami Shield, but I was too wasted.

I woke up and cursed myself that I didn't fall asleep in MH. Ran to MH, check d.box... full of gil. Dammit. Wait for refresh, wait for refresh... oh, there's Tatami Shield from Z. YAY! Then I set about doing all the non-sucky, non-leaving-Windy quests. Turns out there aren't any because they all suck. In the end I gave up and traded away all the Beehive Chips I'd farmed while exping. Still not enough fame. I went and bought Cornette's and that did the trick, finally.

Hooray, Star Necklace! Charm setup now has CHR+23 before food - not too shabby, but not perfect. Missing HQ lvl 54 rings and HQ Melody earrings... but I don't think I'm going to bother.

God, getting fame sucks.

Star Spinel Epic Win.

So tonight Zwicked was kind enough to help me farm a Star Spinel for my Star Necklace (which I failed at getting since I apparently didn't have enough fame to trigger the quest even though I'd done all the pre-reqs). On our way down to the Dune Boots NM area, we ran into Proconsul XII and Z just fucking charged the thing.

He killed the NM while dealing with an entire room of links. I was terribly impressed. That's what a RDM is supposed to be like. Can't wait. So earlier in the day, even before getting together with Z, I was playing around with AltanaView and came up with this:

Dynamis fail.

So I stayed up late last night and woke up early this morning to exp, exp, exp in Wajaom off birds up to lvl 65 so I could make the new Haze shell's dynamis run (their real name is Pascasomething, I can't remember or spell it). Sadly, there was a schizm in that shell recently and it lost a bunch of members. So many that it wasn't possible to do Dynamis tonight.

Bummer.

Oh well, guess my first Dynamis run will have to wait.

BST65 this morning. Went to Norg for Bastok 6-2 CS, then headed to Ifrit's Cauldron where I promptly got a coffer key, coffer, and the map! Huzzah!

This zone used to scare me, but now, on BST, it's like a big playground.

Off to an appropriate start!

Went to pick up the Linkshell just as it ticked over into Darksday. The Linkshell vendor's holiday. No problem, will stand around and wait until Firesday... waiting... waiting... ok, Firesday... vendor doesn't open until 12:00. Fail! More waiting...

Can't get the color right, but at least I got the right name. I succeeded in failing.
